Hong Kong Day 4 - Kung Hei Fat Choy

Guests pack the rooftop of the Salisbury YMCA for the viewing of the Lunar New Year fireworks show on Fri. Feb 4, 2011.
Kung Hei Fat Choy! Even though being Chinese, and having parents that strongly encouraged the cultural practices of our heritage, I had never seen the celebration of the Lunar New Year to be as big of a deal as January 1.  Probably cause I would get to blow shit up.  In China, the Luar New Year goes out with all the Pomp and Circumstance as any other country celebrates the regular new years.  There was a massive parade complete with floats, a 10 million dollar (HKD) fireworks show, and to top it all off everything was fricken closed!!! doh!  As apart of our tour pacakge, we had the New Years' buffet at the Salisbury YMCA (hotel we're staying at) and got to witness the fireworks show from the YMCA's Roof.

Another take on the first photo.  Fireworks appear as 'blooming bokeh'
